On a Walk

For the past three weeks or so, I have been taking a photography class on how to use my new flash unit (the 580 EXII, for those of you who are interested.) It's been slow moving--I am not a huge fan of using flash, but I wanted to have it for those indoor shots where I just can't get the exposure right because there's not enough light available. One of my class assignments was to take photos with the flash outdoors. This was challenging to me, because I didn't feel I needed it outside, but I went ahead with the assignment anyway. Mom and I took a walk and I brought my camera along. I snapped a few nature-y shots, and also took a few pictures of Mom with the flash. Here are some of my favorites from our walk!

Easter

This past Sunday, we had an Easter celebration at my house, and of course my family all comes and joins us. This means that I get to see all my cousins and their children--which gives me a chance to photograph some of the little ones. Unfortunately, I had a bit of a bug this weekend and wasn't feeling 100%, so I didn't get to take too many. But I still got some that I really like. Here are some of those photos:

And just for kicks, some flowers:

slacker!

I have been behind on posting to this blog, so to get this thing kick-started again, I am going to post a recent photoshoot I did with my cousin's baby girl, Alaina, who was 4.5 months old at the time. She's growing like a weed and getting prettier every day! :) Here are some of my favorites from our session:
